Dr. Beate Krickel

Talk at Workshop "Reasons, Explanations, and Models"

Beate gave a talk on the connection between mechanistic and topological explanation at a wonderful workshop in Hamburg organized by Stephan Krämer and Stefan Roski. As part of the talk, she presented first ideas of how the "contrastive explananda" account developed in a joint paper with Matt (Kohár and Krickel 2021) could be applied to computational and representational explanation to tackle the compatibility challenge

Here is a link to a joint paper with Leon De Bruin and Linda Douw in which the contrastive explananda account is applied to topological explanation.
